The Electoral College is an example of an indirect elections consisting of 538 electors who officially select the President and Vice President of the United States.

Student ONE: Make a poster with the map of Australia containing the different territories and the main towns, the situation of Uluru, Kakadu and the Great Barrier Reef and explain to your classmates about all these places and why they are so popular.

 

Kakadu:

Kakadu is a National Park in which you can find a lot of animals and plants. The Kakadu'sflora is the richest in Australia, more than 1700 plant species and the diverse environments of Kakadu National Park support an astonishing array of animals, a number of which have adapted to particular habitats.

Uluru:

Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of the Northern Territory. It is one of Australia's most recognizable natural landmarks. Uluru and the nearby Kata Tjuta formation have great cultural significance for the Aṉangu people, the traditional inhabitants of the area, who lead walking tours to inform visitors about the local flora and fauna, bush foods and the Aboriginal dreamtime stories of the area.

Great Barrier Reef:

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland. It is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms.A large part of the reef is protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, which helps to limit the impact of human use, such as fishing and tourism. The reef is a very popular destination for tourists, especially in the Whitsunday Islands and Cairns regions. Tourism is an important economic activity for the region, generating $1 billion per year.

Kakadu is a National park situated within the Alligator Rivers Region of the Northern Territory of Australia.

 In Kakadu National Park you can find a lot of animals and plants. The Kakadu's flora is the richest in Australia, more than 1700 plant species.

And the diverse environments of Kakadu National Park support an astonishing array of animals, a number of which have adapted to particular habitats. Some animals in the Park are rare, endangered, vulnerable or endemic. Responding to the extreme weather conditions experienced in the Park, many animals are active only at particular times of the day or night or at particular times of the year.

 Why is it so famous?

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system; its area is over 344,400 square kilometers. The reef is located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland.

The Great Barrier Reef can be seen from outer space and is the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms. The Queensland National Trust named it a state icon of Queensland.
